East Campus is an alternative program grades 8-12 within the Muscatine Community School District.
The program has a design-based focus with emphasis on social innovation and cross-sector collaboration, locally and internationally. Aligning the Iowa Core, students apply their skills and content knowledge to find and implement solutions to societal problems. Therefore, education becomes a vehicle for social action.
We have a number of gracious collaborators who have been involved in reciprocal exchanges. They provide our students opportunities and our students in turn give back.
Last May, our fourteen graduates walked into their futures. We held a ceremony to honor their hard work and persistence. As we have experienced in the past few years, although students leave, they remain connected. We are happy to know several have volunteered to return to mentor our current students this year.
BEST WISHES GRADUATES! YOU ARE GREATNESS!
Many other current events were made possible by gracious community support. Please see our collaborators page for a list of the organizations, corporations, and individuals who make opportunities possible.
Currently, six East Campus students are enrolled in PSEO our dual enrollment classes. We want to ensure students know they have postsecondary options. In addition, we appreciate the opportunity to support them in the transition process from high school to college.
